Everybody's Favorite Birds When Bird Watching

By: Michael Russell

Article Word Count: 435

Bird watching has become a favorite hobby in different parts of America today. This is made possible by the various bird equipment and feeders that are available on the market today. Every bird feeder will attract different kinds of birds. That's why it is up to your feeds and feeders to draw the most beautiful birds to watch.

Orioles are one of the most favorite bird species of bird watchers. If you want to attract them to your backyard, you will have to dispense artificial nectars. Displaying grape jellies is also an alternate approach.

Hummingbirds basically follow the same idea. But for these birds, you have to make the water red. Hummingbirds are attracted to this color. If you want them to go flying about your backyard use that simple trick.

Chickadees and cardinals can be fed simply by laying out their food on a flat tray. They eat mostly seeds and you can purchase them from many stores or a pet shop. You may also want to buy platform feeders for the seeds to reduce waste.

Woodpeckers and flickers eat suet cakes. Suet cakes can also be bought at pet stores. You have to put the cakes in a special metal-cage feeder. Flickers have to cling to the feeder to enjoy the cake. The finer the mesh is, the smaller the birds that will feed on it.

Now if you wanted to go to the extreme and watch birds, not from your backyard but straight from their habitats, you are going to need equipment. The first thing you are going to require is a good pair of binoculars.

Binoculars are useful tools in looking at birds up close without disturbing or scaring them away. Some binoculars are powerful enough to watch butterflies and other smaller insects. Look through them and you'll feel you are just inches away from the birds.

Yellow-throated Warblers are small but nice looking birds. You will able to spot these birds only on top of a tree, usually a sycamore. So the next time you see tall trees while hunting for birds position yourself on a comfortable spot and brace yourself for long hours of bird watching. You'll definitely more birds than you expected.

These are just some of the favorite birds every birdwatcher admires. If you are just new with the hobby, pick up some good pointers from any pro. For the experts, create more challenge for yourself. And be amazed that there are so many birds to still marvel about.
